VPN Quick Links
The following information provides the steps necessary for downloading and installing the GlobalProtect VPN software on mobile devices.
Install App
Download and install the GlobalProtect app on your mobile device by searching for "GlobalProtect" in the App Store or Play Store.

Connect to VPN
- Launch the GlobalProtect app.
- If prompted to enable notifications, tap Allow.
- For the portal address, enter "connect.vanderbilt.edu."
- Tap Connect to initiate the connection.
iOS:When the "GlobalProtect would like to add VPN configurations" message appears, tap Allow. Enter your passcode to confirm that you want to add VPN configurations to your endpoint.Android: When the "Connection request" message appears, tap OK to allow GlobalProtect to set up a VPN connection on your endpoint.- Follow the prompt to complete the login.
- Once connection is established, close the notification message to proceed to the app's home screen.
- If the connection is successful, the app's home screen will display the "Connected" state.
Disconnect from VPN
- Click the top-left menu icon, then tap Sign Out.
- Please avoid using the 'Disconnect' button on the main screen. Instead, sign out through the menu to prevent any potential issues when signing back in.
Uninstall App
To uninstall GlobalProtect from your mobile device, follow the same steps as you would for any other application.
iOS: In addition to uninstalling the app, follow the steps below to delete the VPN configuration:
- Open Settings
- Search and select VPN or VPN & Device Management
- Select VPN
- Tap the i next to GlobalProtect
- Tap Delete VPN
- Tap Delete on the warning pop up
Chromebooks
- To install GlobalProtect on a Chromebook, you must have Google Play Store enabled on your Chromebook.
- Download and install the "GlobalProtect" app from the Play Store.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. The portal address is connect.vanderbilt.edu.
