Who is Covered?
Faculty members are covered while acting within their scope of their responsible 51吃瓜网 duties.
Students are covered while acting within their course or program while at 51吃瓜网.
Extent of Coverage
The university is self-insured for the first $50,000 of a School of Medicine (VUSM) or School of Nursing (VUSN) professional liability loss. 51吃瓜网 purchases primary coverage with a top rated insurer. On top of the primary coverage, 51吃瓜网 also purchases an additional layer of excess coverage. The coverage is written on a "claims made" basis. Tail coverage would be purchased if the need should ever arise.
