In the undergraduate schools, no more than 18 or fewer than 12 credit hours may be taken in any one semester without authorization. Overloads and underloads must be approved by:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blair School of Music:<\/strong> Recommended by an adviser and approved by the associate dean.<br \/>\n<strong>College of Arts and Science:<\/strong> Administrative Committee or an associate dean.<br \/>\n<strong>School of Engineering:<\/strong> School of Engineering Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education<br \/>\n<strong>Peabody College:<\/strong> Dean of Peabody Student Affairs Office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Graduate and Professional Students<\/h4>\n<p>Full-time status varies by school. For more information, please consult the appropriate <a href=\"http:\/\/registrar.vanderbilt.edu\/catalogs-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">School Catalog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To receive permission to overload or underload, students must meet with the following school official:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Divinity School:<\/strong> Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs.<br \/>\n<strong>Law School:<\/strong> Assistant Dean for Academic Life.<br \/>\n<strong>School of Engineering:<\/strong> School of Engineering Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Education<br \/>\n<strong>School of Medicine:<\/strong> MD Program &#8211; Associate Dean for Medical Student Affairs and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education.
